Virtela Technology Services Interview Questions
& Process

I was directly contacted by the talent acquisition team. During our initial conversation, they inquired about my qualifications, work experience, and interests. About four days later, I received a call with the interview schedule. The interview took place at Virtela's Mumbai office and was a full-day process. It included an aptitude test, which consisted of verbal and reasoning questions, followed by three rounds of face-to-face interviews. The interviews were sequentially with HR, then managers, and finally the director. Each stage required successful completion before moving to the next. In my HR round, typical questions about myself and my work experience were asked. However, I was informed about the requirement to work in a 24x7x365 environment, which I am not comfortable with. After this, the HR representative concluded the interview.

The interview process was pretty straightforward and not too difficult. First, there was a technical interview that lasted about 30 minutes, with two interviewers who were quite friendly. They asked about my background and experience, my CCNA skills, and basic routing and switching knowledge. They also inquired if I would be open to working in shifts since the operations team operates 24/7. Additionally, they asked about my familiarity with different hardware like routers and switches. Following that, there was an HR round for about 20 minutes. The HR representative didn't ask many questions and mainly focused on salary negotiation. Overall, it was a very positive experience.

First there was a call from HR, then a Skype interview with a US Sys Eng. After that, an in-house interview which had two parts: one with a Sys Eng and another with the Operations Manager and Development Head. Then a Skype or direct call with the US IT head, followed by an HR interview over the phone, and finally an offer presentation.

It's pretty standard for a local IT company, so don't be too surprised if things get a bit unconventional. The interview process has 3 rounds so far, and I still haven't received any feedback. I'm not sure what they're exactly looking for, and it makes me wonder if they truly have the requirements for a Senior role.
