First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Virsec.
Engineer
HR was pretty chill and scheduling was a breeze. It was a good mix of technical and culture stuff, and the interviewers were genuinely nice and cool to chat with.
- Regarding AWS Lambda, how would you go about importing your own libraries?
Head of Information Security
A recruiter reached out and was quick to respond. After a series of emails, we had a call to discuss the role. After that, I heard nothing from her. It's pretty customary to provide an update if a candidate isn't a good fit after multiple emails and a call, especially for a startup. Ghosting a candidate really says a lot about the company.

Software Engineer
I had a call from Virsec. The first round was with the hiring manager, and the second was a coding round. I answered all the questions, which were all from LeetCode. The next day, I got an update saying I wasn't selected. I have no idea why. I suspect they might be wasting my time with interviews, as something similar happened to my friend too.
- How would you rotate a matrix 90 degrees?
- Can you reverse a singly linked list?
- How do you find the kth largest element in an array?
Software Engineer
I got a call from a staffing agency. The first step was a phone screening, and I had to wait about 15 minutes for the call. They asked if I was applying for a Full-stack developer role, which I said no to. The interviewer then looked through my resume and brought up Spring Boot.
- What's your approach to debugging when a component isn't auto-wired correctly, even with the @Component and @Autowired annotations?
- Could you explain how to autowire a Singleton Class within Spring Boot?
- Walk me through the process of preparing an application for the cloud.
