Behavioral Technical Presentation

Interviewed in front of 3 people who asked open-ended questions about my previous experience related to the job description. VDOT is very slow; it took two months to get an interview and three more months to be told I wasn't hired because I didn't have a CDL. They say they allow time to get a CDL but want you to already have it so they don't have to train you. You won't get a job there without management connections. Also, have tons of experience with every little thing in the job description because they apparently don't want to train you. I had a lot of necessary experience but lacked concrete experience, which took me 'out of the running,' he said. Had my hopes up for 5 months, only to find out the above. Very disappointing!

Behavioral Technical

The interview process involved a phone interview and an in-person interview at their office in Suffolk, VA. The interview experience itself was positive, however, the HR department's administrative errors caused significant issues. They failed to book the hotel under my name, resulting in me having to pay out-of-pocket, and reimbursement took over 5 months. Following the in-person interview, I was informed by HR that an offer would be emailed, but this never materialized. It seems VDOT is not transparent in their dealings.
