First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Virginia Credit Union.
Branch Manager
I had a 30-minute chat with a recruiter. They mentioned the next step would be a virtual meeting with two managers, and that I should plan for about 2 hours for it. The recruiter told me not to assume they'd read my resume and to come up with my own questions for them. I gave them my availability, but the interview was never actually confirmed. I waited until half an hour before it was supposed to start and still hadn't heard back, so I just went about my day. I feel like my time is valuable too, and if they expect me to be prepped, the least they could do is confirm the interview and have the interviewers actually look at my background.
- Was the phone interview conducted to ensure you fulfilled the necessary qualifications?
Intern
It was 1 phone interview and one technical interview. The phone interview was to make sure you meet the requirements and the technical one was seeing how well you can organize data and behave in a team environment.
- Can you discuss your past experiences?
- What are some technical questions in your field?
- How do you work in different teams and environments?
Marketing Specialist
It was abrasive and unorganized. My interview got rescheduled and when I went, they seemed uninterested like they already found their person but still had to interview me. Come to think of it, I think the reschedule was in hopes that I would cancel.
- What marketing expertise do you have.
Personal Banker
The job involves making outbound calls and other sales activities. While the job wasn't a good fit for me, the bank failed to contact me with a decision after the interview.
- What are your thoughts on making outbound calls?
- Describe a situation where you successfully resolved a challenging circumstance.
