ESL Teacher
The interview process spanned a few days with different people interviewing me. It was a quick and easy process, provided you studied the lesson trial. Initially, I was asked general questions about myself, followed by an opportunity to teach as a trial lesson.
- What makes you want to teach at this institution?
ESL Teacher
Got hired as a British speaking teacher then cancelled because I am not from America, which I disclosed at the first interview. I think it was silly and unprofessional at the time, this happened during covid.

So first, you gotta apply by putting your basic info like education and teaching background on VIPKid’s platform. Then comes the demo lesson, you get to pick between a Smart Demo which is like a 5-minute recorded thing with slides they give you, you can redo it too. Or, you can do a Live Demo, that's a 30-minute video call where a recruiter pretends to be a student and gives you pointers on the spot. After that, there's a mock class where you teach a 10-minute lesson to a mentor playing a student, and you gotta use VIPKid’s curriculum, like Level 2-3 or 4-5 stuff. Oh, and if you don't have your TESOL/TEFL cert already, you gotta do their training and get certified.
- Could you tell me about your previous teaching experience?

i had an interview with another teacher at vipkid who gave some solid advice; you should def take their tips into consideration for your second interview. It took a while for them to reach out initially but once they did, it was a quick process.
- What year was your degree obtained?
- How much teaching experience do you have?
