First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vionic Group.
Graphic Designer
The interview process was thorough and multilayered. When I applied, I first had to complete a personality test. It took about two months and included an art test. I liked that I got to meet the whole team and get a feel for everyone to make sure it was a good fit.
- Can you describe a situation where you took the lead on a team project?
Customer Service Representative
The interview process for the Customer Service Representative role at Vionic felt quite unusual. It started around 1 PM and went on until about 4 PM. Initially, I spoke with the VP of Product, who was pleasant and we had a good chat. Next, I met with the manager of the Customer Service department, also very nice. We spent about an hour and a half discussing the job and other topics. Interestingly, looking back, a significant red flag was that the interviewer asked no questions about my previous work experience, academic background, or certifications. The conversation was generally casual, perhaps too casual, feeling more like a chat with a friend than a formal interview. After the interview, I was told to expect a written assignment to assess my customer interaction skills. I was eager for it and had to email the recruiter to request it. Once I completed and submitted the assignment, I followed up with the customer service manager, who initially said she'd get back to me 'very soon.' After a week of waiting, I followed up again, and she mentioned she'd respond 'early next week at the latest.' I waited another week before following up a third time, and since then, there has been complete silence. It's been a month since her last communication, and I haven't heard anything. While the company made a good initial impression, the final impression was very poor. A simple email to inform me of the decision would have been sufficient, rather than saying they'd respond as soon as possible and then leaving me with no answer. It felt disrespectful.
- Could you tell me a little about yourself?
Accountant
The interview process was really bad. I went in for an in-person interview and then just never heard anything back. I sent a thank you note and it was ignored. Then I sent a regular follow-up email and still nothing. A week later I asked for a status update and got no response. Not even a voicemail two weeks later was returned. Clearly, they reposted the job but they don't tell anyone what's happening and just keep you in the dark even if you don't get selected. It's okay to say yes or no but ignoring candidates is bad, especially for those who actually interviewed in person. The process was a phone interview, then an in-person interview, then a second in-person interview, and I spent hours driving with no decision.
- Could you describe your accounting work history?
- What are some typical accounting questions you can answer?

Interviewed. Followed with an 'thank you' email - ignored. Then a status update email - ignored. It's okay to say no. Not okay to ignore your candidates. In short, I don't think their hiring process was ever 'changed' in regards to the other similar reviews here.
