Had a first phone call with my future manager, then an in-person meeting with the director. After that, we communicated via email with the HR department of the sub-directorate to agree on salary. Then, onboarding happened upon signing the contract at the central HR department.

HR reached out for an English writer role, as advertised. The ad was in French, but didn't explicitly state French writing skills were needed, even though my CV and cover letter clarified I'm not fluent. I met with the communications directors for print and digital. They explained the job, which I have tons of experience in. Then, they revealed they needed someone to write journalistic articles in French. I said I wasn't comfortable with that unless someone reviewed it before publishing. They stressed its importance and that was it. Total waste of time.
