First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at VillaSport.
Associate
When I applied, the process included a group interview. I got to meet people I might work with, the General Manager, the VillaKids Director, and another department Director from the club.
- What is your motivation for wanting to join VillaSport?
Food and Beverage Employee
We had a group interview with some higher-ups, and then I talked one-on-one with the head of the department I'd be working in. It was a good experience, and everyone was really helpful and easy to talk to.
- Can you tell me about a time you faced adversity?
- Describe a situation where you had a disagreement with a boss or coworker.
- How has your past work experience prepared you for this role?
Team Leader
The interviewer was a long-term employee and former employee of the year. She mentioned considering other job offers due to better compensation. The company, Villa Sport, aims for high profits by offering lower-priced products to a mid-to-high income demographic, which impacts employee earnings, primarily benefiting salaried staff. There were also issues with employees drinking on the job without facing disciplinary actions.
- Regarding your wage expectations, how much are you asking for?
- What ethnicity are you?
Membership Advisor
The interview started with a phone call where they asked me about my resume and how it related to membership sales. They also asked about handling both difficult and positive situations, customer service skills, community outreach, and my knowledge of fitness and the gym. After that, I had a 1:1 in-person meeting, which was very casual. They really needed to hire someone quickly at that time.
- Can you tell me why you are leaving your current job?
- What contributions do you believe you can make to our sales department and the team?
- How do you approach and manage challenging circumstances?
