It was virtual and in person, 2 rounds total. The virtual part was easy and just an intro. The second round was in person and included a campus tour and panel questioning. Overall, it was short and direct with 2 rounds, one virtual and one in person. The virtual call had one interviewer, and the in person had a panel and a campus tour.

I applied online and was asked for 3 references. My references were contacted for reference letters before the interview. I had a one-hour video interview with the Dean of Grad Studies. At the end of the interview, I was told I'd be emailed if I was selected for a second interview. Three weeks later, I received a robo-email saying I wasn't chosen. The whole process took over a month, and I'm very upset that my references wasted their time for another rejection. This is the third time this has happened to me. I'd advise anyone applying for a staff position here to reconsider if they don't want a long and disappointing interview process. HR was unhelpful, saying the process was up to the department when I inquired about my references being hassled for letters before my interview. It's unbelievable.

Besides the regular interview, there's also a team-building activity to see how you interact with others and identify your strengths and potential contributions. Specifics about the team building are confidential to ensure fairness. Be genuine about yourself and your motivation for becoming an RA. The goal is to build a well-rounded team with diverse strengths in each building, so authenticity is key.

First call was to talk about the job and what they were looking for. Then there was another phone interview. After that, it was an in-person interview with three Sales/Event Managers and the General Manager. On the first call, they promised I wouldn't be ghosted and would be told about the outcome. This was mentioned again in the face-to-face interview. That said, don't expect a call or email if you don't get the job.
