I had a screening phone call first to see if I was a fit. Then we set up an interview with a panel. Finally, I had to turn in a writing sample.

The interview process was really well-organized. I had to meet with a lot of people, but it was actually enjoyable. There were three large groups of staff from various departments, which was a good opportunity for me to get a feel for people in different parts of the organization.

The interview kicked off with standard questions about my prior experience in the field. As it went on, the questions became tougher. The interviewer mentioned my race and gender multiple times, asking repeatedly if I'd be okay working with people of different races due to me being white. The interviewer wasn't warm and really seemed doubtful about my ability to handle things as a small, white woman, even with my past work in a really similar setting. No follow-up happened, even after I reached out to check in. Honestly, it was a really bad experience.

Had a phone screening first, then an interview, and then an observation. The whole process took quite a while. They asked very abstract questions and it felt more like a conversation than anything. Wasn't really time to ask any of my own.
