It started with a phone screener, and then there were three in-person interviews. There were long gaps between them contacting me. It was an interesting and unique process. There were some troubling parts, but it wasn't overly stressful. Take a lot of time to not sweat it.

It was the first round interview. It was very conversational. We talked about my prior experience and they did not dive very deep. They also asked about investment insights which I’m not familiar with and I think that’s why I failed.

This was a pretty tough process with some really conceptual questions. The interviewer was quite brash and really tested how I think. You need to have a solid grasp on how you conceptualize value. There were two 30-minute interviews: one with the head of valuation and another with an analyst.

Behavioral Technical

It was a really long interview process, mostly focused on personality and whether I'd fit in psychologically. The technical part wasn't too tough, surprisingly. I've never seen a company take so many months to fill a role that wasn't even that technically demanding. I saw that as a red flag but unfortunately ignored it. They seemed great in person, but after sending an offer and setting a start date, they acted pretty cruelly. They decided to pull the offer almost two weeks after I'd given my current employer notice, citing pretty minor reasons. They could have and should have done that much earlier. They wouldn't listen to any explanations, and after all the time we both put into the process, they just left me hanging. Not a good way to treat people, it caused a lot of personal stress.
