First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Viking Electric.
Administration Assistant
It was a very professional process. They asked really good questions and seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me. I felt a wonderful connection with them.
- What are some common interview questions you've encountered?
- Were the questions asked appropriate for the role?
Warehouse Worker
They laid out a thorough explanation of the job and what's expected of employees, and also went over the general day-to-day flow of the facility. Some tough questions came up during the face-to-face part of the interview.
- Can you describe how you've managed different situations in your professional life?
Training and Development Manager
Standard process - phone screen, interview with hiring manager, Profiles XT assessment, second interview with CEO, 2 VPs, and 2 HR team members. Received a call a little over a week later with results (no offer). My impression is that this is a successful, yet very traditional organization that isn't very open to new/different ways of thinking. Lots of leaders have been there a long time, which lends itself to myopic paradigms and a hierarchical leadership style. I was told I have a strong personality and high energy (true), but this wasn't a good cultural fit.
- What's your reason for leaving your current employment?
- Describe your approach to developing a training program.
Human Resources Manager
I found the job on Indeed.com and the Recruiting Manager contacted me the same day to set up a phone screen for a few days later. The phone screen was fast and easy. Then, within 2 business days, the hiring manager reached out and asked me to come in for a 1x1 interview. After the 1x1, I was invited back for a final panel interview with the whole HR team. It was good that everyone on the small team had a say in the decision. Viking Electric made the process quick and easy. The interviews were designed to give me info about the company and the company info about me. I liked all the info they gave me so I could make a good choice. I got an offer 3 days after the last interview.
- Can you describe how your previous experiences align with the requirements of this position?
