Finance Intern
After submitting your CV, there's a one-on-one interview with a Senior Manager from the FMTB department. HR might also be involved. The whole process, from CV application to getting an offer, usually takes about a month.
- Can you introduce yourself and walk me through your experience?
Network Engineer
I was invited to interview for the Network SME position, which I heard they've been trying to fill for 2 years. The first interview got postponed by 10 days because the interviewers were busy. During the rescheduled interview, there was a 10-minute delay because they were on another important call, which I understood. When they finally joined, no one acknowledged my wait and they just started asking questions. I had a hard time understanding their accents and the questions were poorly formed. For example, instead of asking 'how do you plan for the future after a network is built?', they could have asked 'how do you plan for your day 2 operations after a network is built?'. They said I was too technical when explaining design solutions to non-technical people, even though I tried to simplify. I've handled non-tech customers before and convinced them with my designs. I think whiteboarding is better for non-tech people than explaining in sentences. With my 12 years of experience, including 7 years in DC design and working in private cloud environments, I doubt they understood my explanation of a DC active-active setup and how the private cloud worked. Their question formation was really bad, no wonder they haven't filled the position. I'm surprised they pointed out my strengths as weaknesses, when I've used those same strengths to deliver complex projects in SI and MNC banks.
- Can you talk about ACI?
- Can you talk about DC/DR?
- Can you talk about Private and Public cloud?
Software Engineer
The interview process was smooth and well-organized. It started with an initial online application and a quick HR screening call to discuss my background and expectations. After that, I completed a short technical assessment focused on basic algorithms, data structures, and some practical coding tasks relevant to banking systems. Next, I had a panel interview with a senior engineer and a team lead. They asked about my previous projects, problem-solving approach, and some situational questions to understand how I work in a team. The atmosphere was friendly and professional, and they were very open to clarifying questions about the role. Finally, there was a brief cultural fit interview with HR, followed by an offer within a week. Overall, the process was clear, fair, and not overly stressful—great for entry-level candidates.
- For an online banking application, how would you securely design a basic system for user authentication?
UI & UX Designer
I had one interview, but there was supposed to be a second one. It was pretty simple - just one main interviewer, the UX Lead, and two other people watching, a Product Manager and someone from HR. They seemed to like my answers by the end. They did call me for a second interview to talk about a potential offer, but I decided to pass since I had already accepted a job elsewhere.
- Could you share details about your past work and experience?
- Given this prototype of our product, what modifications would you suggest?
