First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Videri.
Logistics Coordinator
So there were 3 rounds of interviews. First, I spoke with HR, then the Director of Operations, and finally the VP of Supply Chain. Everyone was pretty friendly, and the whole thing wrapped up in about 2 weeks with an offer.
- Can you elaborate on your professional background and experience?
- Could you describe a specific situation where you successfully resolved a logistical challenge?
Creative Designer
I went through 3 rounds of interviews. First was with the recruiter, then the manager, and finally the VPs. I also had a design project that I presented in the last round, and they asked about my design process.
- Can you describe your problem-solving approach?
- Tell me about your organizational style.
- How would you describe your communication style?
Front End Developer
My interviewer seemed completely out of his depth and unqualified for the role. He mainly asked about my previous work. When he saw I hadn't used React before, he almost ended the interview, even though I have several good React projects on my GitHub. I had to guide him to find my GitHub profile, as he struggled with the URL provided in my cover letter. He only wanted to see live demos and needed me to show him how to find my deployed projects on GitHub, as he couldn't navigate it himself. He then said he'd send me a sketch to estimate the implementation time, but I never received it.
- Can you walk me through your previous work experiences?
- What is your experience with React based on your past roles?
- Can you share live examples of your React projects from GitHub?
Executive Assistant
So I was referred by a recruiter and had a 20 min phone screen with Aileen. Then a few days later, I had a formal interview with Priscilla and Aileen. It felt more like they wanted someone they could get along with rather than someone experienced. It was about an hour. After almost three weeks, I had a third interview with the CEO, but ended up meeting with his current EA, Chelsea, because the CEO was still away. This interview was super in-depth about the role and company, lasting over an hour. They said I'd hear back in two days. The next day, my recruiter told me they decided not to hire an EA and would instead hire project managers, basically scrapping the role. I'm pretty appalled they'd waste my time like that.
- What are your short and long term goals with this company?
- How comfortable are you with dealing with difficult personalities?
- Can you tell me about your background and previous work experience?
