Went through three online interviews. First was a casual chat with HR about my interests and how I found the company. Then, there was an online coding round. After that, I had an interview with robotics and computer vision specific questions before the onsite. The onsite consisted of six interviews: five with technical staff members and one with the CTO.

I had a video screening with senior engineers. Then I completed a take-home coding challenge that took at least a day; it was a cool but challenging geometric coding problem. After that, I went for an onsite interview, but I was surprised to find out I had to give a presentation, which HR hadn't mentioned. The team leader seemed arrogant and was unhappy about the presentation, which he led for the first hour. He asked questions, and after I answered, he seemed to think I was a good fit. Then I was in a conference room for 4 hours answering coding questions on a whiteboard. I was told I couldn't join them for lunch because the CEO was giving a briefing in the kitchen, so I ate alone in the room. Interviewers seemed happy with my whiteboard answers. I left feeling positive, despite the awkward start with the team leader; the rest of the people were friendly. I got rejected a week later with no explanation, which felt very subjective. If I had known the first call was with the team leader, I would have backed out early.

I went through two challenges. The first was a 1-hour HackerRank challenge with 5 problems covering bit manipulations, stack, linked list, and queues. The second was a Vicarious tech challenge where I had 24 hours to build a microservice. After passing those, I had a phone interview with the Head of Engineering that included behavioral and some technical questions.

I applied online and had a phone screen that was technical even though they didn't mention it. They then emailed me to set up a 1 on 1 interview for the next week. My background is in robotics and controls, but the technical question wasn't related to that at all and was just a generic coding question. They should have been clear if they were looking for a pure software engineer.
