Coding Technical System Design Behavioral Other

The interview process was pretty chill and standard. Everything went smoothly. Even so, just answering questions and solving the coding problem wasn't enough to get past the Tech Screening. The reasons I got rejected (pros) were like: "Needed a lot of help with Big O notation" (didn't initially give worst-case scenarios, but did after being prompted); "Focused more on managing expectations upfront for problem-solving questions instead of the tech problem" (I kinda mixed it up with behavioral questions because the prompt mentioned "need to be done in 15 minutes" and "Project Manager" together). Also, solving a DSA coding question in over 20 minutes was seen as too long, which was another reason for rejection. In the end, my core engineering skills didn't make the final cut; it all came down to whether the interviewer found my explanation of the coding/problem-solving question understandable and if I could solve it quickly, under 20 minutes, without second-guessing.

Coding Behavioral

I had a technical interview where I did a leet code easy EDA exercise with an Engineering Manager. This manager didn't seem to know how to code, so instead of collaborating and guiding, they just watched. My solution didn't pass all the test cases, but the interviewer said I could still pass and we talked for another 45 minutes. Ultimately, I was rejected because the code exercise didn't cover all scenarios.

Technical Behavioral Case Coding

So, wanted to share my experience with Gavin from TripAdvisor, hoping it helps future candidates. Took me about a month to hear back after applying. The recruiter actually missed our first interview, then rescheduled, but then canceled again last minute. We finally got the process started on our third try. The interview had three stages, and the technical questions were reasonable. I thought the interviews went well. After the last round, I was told the next day they were impressed and getting an offer ready for next week, including benefits. But then the following week, they said there was a delay because people were out of office. After chasing them a bit, they suddenly told me the week after that they weren't moving forward with an offer. The reason they gave was suddenly negative feedback from my first interview, which was over a month ago. This sudden change was pretty surprising and honestly disappointing. Overall, it felt like the most unprofessional recruitment experience I've ever had.

Behavioral Presentation Other

Started with a screening call with the recruiter, then a call with the hiring manager about skills and experience. After that, there were 2 peer interviews to get a feel for the role and team. The initial final call was with the CCO. But since the market is super competitive now, there was a second 'final' round which involved a short task and a presentation to the CCO and hiring manager.
