Network Engineer
I went through three interviews. The first one was a general chat with the Hiring Manager where we talked about my previous work history and what I expect from a company culture. Then, I had a second interview with a 2nd level manager, which was more technical. They asked me some standard networking questions, covering topics like TCP/IP, DNS, and NAT.
- Can you discuss your previous work experience?
- What are your expectations for a company environment?
- Could you answer some standard networking questions?
Network Engineer Intern
It was an easy process. Started with a screening call covering basic HR questions. Then there were two more calls with the team. HR kept me updated throughout, which was a good aspect. However, the entire process took over a month because the team's schedule was quite busy.
- Tell me about your experience with group work.
- Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Senior Network Engineer
The recruiter in the US reached out to me online and did a phone screen. Then I had another phone interview with the HM a few days later. After that, they scheduled 4 rounds of onsite interviews, and one of them was with the HM again. About 3 days after the onsite, the recruiter emailed to set up a call to go over feedback. On that call, I was rejected because they went with someone else who had more experience in team leadership. This is weird though because I asked everyone about the job duties, including the HM, and they described the role and team dynamics in detail, but no one mentioned leadership experience being a requirement. Plus, all the questions were technical, nothing behavioral. And I do have leadership experience, I've led and am currently leading a team.
- Can you discuss OSPF?
- Can you discuss IS-IS?
- Can you discuss BGP?
