Hardware Engineer
I had about 10 discussions with 8 different people, going through a few phone and video calls, and then an on-site meeting. I liked that people from all levels were involved in getting to know me. The approach and the high skill levels were great, but I had to decline due to financial reasons, as childcare is very expensive in Switzerland.
- What's your approach to managing an underperforming employee?
Hardware Engineer
Got a 20 minute intro call from the recruiter with behavioral questions like proudest moment and overcoming challenges. Then, a technical phone call was set up by the hiring manager with another engineer. The engineer, who was new to the process, asked engineering questions which I answered well. After the interview, I followed up with the recruiter. A week later, I was told I wasn't moving forward due to lacking RF knowledge, despite my background and interview performance. The whole process took over a month with long response times.
- Can you explain what a low pass filter is and how it's made?
- What distinguishes a spectrum analyzer from an oscilloscope?
- Could you define a transistor and explain its purpose?
Hardware Engineer Intern
The interview process included an initial round with HR where they asked some basic technical questions. Following that, there was a second round with the hiring manager. The manager focused on my resume, inquiring about my experience with FPGAs, SystemVerilog, and verification, and wanted to hear about the projects listed on my resume.
- Can you walk me through the projects listed on your resume?
- Tell me about your experience with FPGAs.
- Tell me about your experience with SystemVerilog.
