Software Engineer
Had an initial chat with the internal recruiter, and then went through a first-stage technical interview with two engineers from the wider team. Didn't make it past that point. The recruiter was good, kept me in the loop and seemed to know the role well. But the engineers in the technical interview were surprised when I asked for job details and had to look up the role description.
- Can you write a program to compute the tax due based on income and progressive tax brackets, and then determine the income from an effective tax rate?
Software Engineer
It started with a phone screen with a recruiter, who was super enthusiastic and gave a lot of info about the role and what the internship experience could be like. They also described the different teams at Viam. It was mostly checking for a good fit! Next up was a 45 minute coding interview with an engineer. Now there's a final round with 3 interviews: coding, algorithms, and behavioral. Everything was very smooth, and the people seem like they love working there.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Why do you think you're a good fit for this role?
- We will be asking traditional LeetCode style questions.
Software Engineer
The interview process was pretty standard. I started with a recruiter phone screen, then a technical phone screen, and finished with a 5-hour on-site. The on-site had two coding challenges, an architecture design question, and a behavioral question. The recruiter was great and the whole process went smoothly. Everyone was really nice and the office looked awesome.
- Can you solve this recursive backtracking problem?
- Please code up minesweeper.
- Design an app that can scale easily and works in real-time based on geolocation.
