Operations Manager
It was a really long interview process. First, I had a 30-minute chat with an operations manager, then a quick call about logistics. After that, I spoke with a director-level person for 30 minutes, and then another 30-minute interview with an operations manager in a different city. About a week later, I had an interview with a VP. The operations managers seemed really into it and nice, but the higher-ups seemed like they just wanted to finish and were mostly reading off their screens. Since it was for a new city with no one hired yet, it felt like the interviewers weren't on the same page. It was pretty disorganized and could've been quicker and clearer if they had done panel interviews instead of five separate meetings. At some point, there's only so much you can ask about a job.
- Tell me about your leadership style.
- Describe how you approach operations and problem-solving.
- What are some areas of soft skill development you're interested in?
Operations Manager
The position was pretty exciting and I like the mission of the company. I went through 7 rounds of interviews. On the last round I was told I was overqualified.
- Describe a difficult decision you had to make and your approach to handling it.
Operations Manager
The interview includes introductions and a company overview. The interviewer will ask questions and discuss them, and you'll have time for your own questions. It usually takes about an hour, and you should hear back within two business days.
- Imagine you're in charge of launching a Via service tomorrow, but discover this morning that all drivers were given the wrong date. How would you handle this situation?
