Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Via Transportation.
Operations
Their interview process should be a red flag for anyone wishing to work here. It is so many rounds and while some of the people you speak with will be kind, others will seem arrogant and tired. I'm sure they are tired having to spend so much time in interviews. The arrogance on the other hand is remarkable for a company whose starting pay is quite low and seems to forget that the point of interview is to want you to work with them.
- Describe an operational challenge you faced, the situation, your considerations, and how you resolved it.
Operations
Started with a phone screen, then had a few video interviews, and finally got invited to their HQ in New York. It was a good experience overall, mostly focusing on situational questions and how I'd deal with problems they're currently facing.
- In a new city launch, how would you weigh the pros and cons of ride-sharing against metro strategies?
Operations
Interviews were tough. They replied fast initially, but then I experienced some ghosting at the end when they didn't seem to like me. Got rejected after several rounds where I got positive feedback, and they didn't give any explanation. Not really sure what they were looking for.
- Tell me about some scenarios related to the company.
- Can you answer some behavioral questions?
