First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Veyo.
Command Center Supervisor
The interview process felt scripted with a set of questions, but it was also free flowing. It started with a 'tell me about yourself' type of question and then moved on to specific scenarios and questions about what you would bring to Veyo.
- What are your thoughts on how your supervised team would describe you?
- What are your thoughts on how your supervisor would describe you?
- Can you describe a time you dealt with conflict between employees?
Product Manager
It began with a recruiter phone screen, then a call with the hiring manager if the personality fit was right. The manager then assigned a project with minimal direction, which took about 1-2 days to complete. This was followed by 6-7 back-to-back interviews at their office. I was told my project was well-done during the onsite. A week after, I received an email expressing interest but needing to finish the process. Ten days later, my follow-up resulted in a generic rejection stating they were pursuing other candidates. The position was reposted a few weeks later. A colleague applied, did the project in a day, but wasn't even offered an on-site. The project seems like a waste of time, and their communication is poor. They discussed their strategy to become the 3rd largest in the NEMT industry by improving services and squeezing more rides in current states, and their difficulty expanding into new states. They admitted to needing to grow and that losing state contracts would be problematic due to poor growth prospects.
- How would you approach launching a tablet version of the product?
- Can you describe your product management philosophy?
User Experience Product Designer
I had a call with the design lead, then a design exercise, followed by an onsite interview with the CTO, VP of product, marketing, design lead, developer, and PM. They said I'd hear back the week after the onsite, but it took them over a month, and they kept telling me every two weeks that they would get back to me.
- Is user research part of Design or Product?
Software Engineer
They set up a phone chat a week prior to go over how my background fits with their ambitious goals. They asked a few quick questions about what I've done, told me about the company, and then let me know the job requirements had shifted.
- Could you tell me about yourself?
