I had an initial chat with a recruiter, and then I was invited to a 30-minute Zoom meeting with two leaders. The interview was super awkward though. The MD seemed really cold, and I felt uncomfortable right away. There were long silences after I answered things. They asked me what superpower I'd bring to the company that no one else has. I didn't know how to answer that and felt stupid. I guess my best wasn't good enough because I didn't get to the next stage. They seemed really snobby and unwelcoming.

Behavioral Presentation

The interview process with Vested was pretty simple. It started with a quick screening phone call with a recruiter, then I had a video interview with two team members where we talked about my experience, my usual processes, and the specifics of the job. After that, I was asked to do an hour-long presentation for a bigger group, pretending Vested was the client and I was doing a discovery session. Since the Website Strategist job is new there, I got to tailor the exercise, even asking their team to do some surveys beforehand, which I think made it easier. Although the presentation was supposed to be the last step, they invited me for a final interview with some team members. I didn't go because I'd already accepted another offer, but I thought their process was clear and easy to follow. I liked getting to know the team, even though I ended up withdrawing.

Behavioral Presentation

It was a really good and enjoyable interview process! They were very thorough and thoughtful in how they hired for my role. I talked to leadership a few times before going in for an in-person interview, which included a presentation. The recruiter was super helpful in getting me ready for each part, and one of the leaders even called me before my presentation to go over what they wanted and help me do well. It was a bit long, but it felt right for the role and how important the hire was. I liked the structure, how clear everything was, and the help they gave.

Behavioral Presentation Technical

The interview process was extensive and thoughtfully structured. It began with a conversation with the internal recruiter, followed by three discussions with team members across different levels of the organization, and concluded with a 20-minute “Client PR Strategy” presentation and a 40-minute Q&A. While more rigorous than most interview experiences, each step reinforced my sense that this was where I wanted to be. The process gave me a clear and accurate understanding of the company’s culture, values, processes, expectations, and overall direction. What stood out most was the consistency of those values across the firm—from account managers to the Founders. If you’re seeking a “forever home” where you can grow your career while contributing to the success of the organization, these kinds of comprehensive interview processes are invaluable. They not only help the company assess your fit, but also give you the confidence that you’ve found the right place to invest your time and talents.
