They reached out to me, and I had a phone interview. Then they gave me some cultural questions and coding challenges to do over the weekend. The next week, they scheduled an on-site. During the on-site, they didn't like that I tried to have a two-way conversation and get to know the company culture and the team. The two people interviewing me seemed annoyed. My advice is to save a few questions for the end and don't ask anything while they're asking their questions. Because of that, I didn't want to work there anyway; it's important to interview the company too. After the cultural questions, I walked through my two take-home coding exercises. Those two coding exercises were the only proof of my technical expertise. I don't even feel like I was challenged or evaluated as an engineer.

Behavioral Technical Coding

First, I chatted with a really friendly HR rep who helped calm my nerves before the actual technical interview. Then, I interviewed with a senior developer/tech lead. This interview was more relaxed, and they picked my brain about my resume contributions and the technologies I knew. They also asked about my programming interests, like whether I preferred front-end or back-end. The main goal seemed to be getting to know me and checking if I was a good fit, plus assessing my reasoning skills. After that, I was asked to do a couple of questions on the whiteboard.

They first do a phone interview to check if you meet the basic requirements for coming in. After that, there was a technical interview where we went over what the job would entail. They asked me technical questions about code and how I'd approach a given task. The final interview was with the President, focusing on my background and how I'd fit with the company's culture. The whole process was pretty straightforward and pleasant.
