Designer
I had an in-person meeting with a Senior Designer first. Then, the second round was also in-person where I presented my portfolio to a larger group, some of whom joined via Zoom.
- Could you tell me about yourself and what aspects of UX design you find most engaging?
Senior Visual Designer
A recruiter reached out via email and we scheduled a Teams meeting with 2 recruiters. On the day of the interview, one recruiter was late, so I ended up speaking with one recruiter who seemed to be in the same room as another person, and I could hear that person talking loudly in the background. They spent the first 20 minutes asking about my career journey. They didn't discuss the position or what they were looking for. Then they asked about salary. I asked what their budget was, and one recruiter told me that I, with 10+ years of experience, was not qualified for this senior-mid level position. However, they still wanted my salary range to keep me on file for the next 6 months. I saw some negative reviews before applying. Don't waste your time.
- Can you tell us about your background and experience?
- What are your salary expectations?
Applications Developer
The recruiting process was exceptionally good, I was really impressed with OST's professionalism and how quickly they responded. OST has a great talent acquisition team that put together and ran an amazing recruiting process. The entire process, from interviewing to the job offer and then on-boarding new employees, was so well-organized. I'd say it's top-notch. The team was so thorough in explaining everything that they answered most of my questions before I even thought to ask them.
- Can you explain object-oriented programming?
- What is your experience with SQL?
- Tell me about your past projects.
Solutions Architect
I initially connected with a senior sales rep at a networking event. We had a casual chat a week later, and he invited me to interview. HR then called me for a phone screen, which felt a bit odd given my proximity to the office and prior meeting. After that went well, I met the head of professional services. Things went great, so I returned the following week for a series of meetings with the professional services head again, the COO (who is now CEO), and a founder. Everyone seemed positive, and the founder thought I'd be a good fit. However, after not hearing back from HR for over a month and a half, despite weekly follow-ups, I got an email late on a Sunday saying no positions were available. This was unexpected, especially since I knew about a major hiring initiative. The whole experience felt a bit off.
- What's your approach to problem-solving?
