First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vertu Motors.
Sales
This was a 2 stage interview process that allowed me to get to terms with the business. Communication was pretty easy throughout the process, with plenty of information and updates provided. It could be streamlined a bit, as a lot of the hiring process is handled by head office rather than in dealership personnel.
- What are my ambitions within this company.
Marketing
First there was an initial interview call. Then I was given a task to complete. After that, I had a second in-person interview where we discussed the task. Finally, I got feedback over the phone, and it was a rejection. However, the feedback was quite surprising considering how well I thought the interview was going.
- If you were a car, which one would you be and what would be the reason?
Sales Executive
The hiring process had two parts. First, an assessment day with other candidates, involving simple group tasks that required speaking and presenting. If successful, you'd get a call for a 1-to-1 interview with the general manager. This 1-to-1 was very relaxed, mostly chatting about your CV/work history, but the manager also included competency questions during the conversation.
- How would others describe your work style?
- Reflecting on buying your car, how did the sales executive's approach make you feel?
- Can you replicate that experience for others?
Sales Manager
The interview process was awful. The interviewer had already made up their mind about me and started telling me about my past experiences. He actually mixed up my previous company, but it just seemed like he didn't want to listen. I found him rude and aggressive to the point where it was upsetting; I've never had such a poor interview with any company.
- Can you describe your previous work experience?
- Questions were all based on a competency test.
