First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vertex Computer Systems.
Inside Sales
The hiring process happened in a week. HR was quick to respond. They're looking for a sales-oriented person who is smart, takes ownership, and is a self-starter. They want to know if you can quickly adapt to the work environment and stay focused. The incentive structure is good, though the commission part could be better, but overall it's encouraging. The growth rate is slow and might get stuck, so I wouldn't recommend this for someone looking for a big career change. There were 3 interview rounds, and you'll also speak with the CEO.
- Can you describe the technologies you've used and the regions you've worked with?
Marketing
The process began with a written assignment where we had to write about the impact of business analytics on the manufacturing sector. Next, there was a face-to-face meeting with the marketing head and marketing leads. Finally, the process concluded with an HR interview.
- Have you ever created PowerPoint presentations?
- Which software programs are you proficient in?
- Do you possess Photoshop skills?
SQL Server Developer
I had a brief chat with HR for the first round. The HR department seemed unsure how to handle candidates, as the HR representative herself asked technical questions despite lacking SQL Server knowledge. They asked some nonsensical questions. It's probably best to avoid such companies to protect your self-esteem.
- Could you tell me about yourself, and why you are looking to change companies?
- What was your role within your previous projects?
- Where is your company located?
Technical Lead
The interview process was good. There were 2 technical rounds and 1 manager round. The technical rounds focused on your domain and problem-solving skills. The manager round was about handling clients and project bottlenecks.
- Tell me about your expertise in your specific technologies.
- How do you manage client interactions?
- Describe your approach to resolving bottleneck issues within a project.
