Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vertafore.
Sales
They gave me one of those standardized online math tests. I'm not sure how I did, math isn't my strong suit, I have excel for that. It seemed a bit basic for the recruiting team. They seemed to be casting a wide net and inviting anyone. The process moved fast. Since they have 300 openings, my advice to them is to focus on results. Don't bring in candidates who clearly aren't interested in the role's scope. Be upfront about the salary range.
- What action would you take if a prospect called expressing interest in purchasing?
Inside Sales Representative
The interview process included an initial question about closing a sale against a competitor. The work environment is described as awesome and comfortable, with no micromanagement or dress code. The company is still defining its approach to current customers and has a history of executive changes and reorganizations without frontline input. While a small percentage of Inside Sales Reps achieve their goals, those who do are highly compensated.
- Can you share an instance where you failed to achieve success?
- Describe a time when you were falling behind on your goals.
Sales Representative
I sent in my application online and heard back from them about a week later via email. Then, they sent me an IQ/problem-solving test to complete. After I passed that, I was invited for an in-person interview at their office in East Lansing, MI.
- What is prompting your departure from your current job?
