It was a virtual interview because it was towards the end of the intense pandemic period. Two managers asked me different questions about my experience and my interest in working for the company. They were nice and professional, and they also answered my questions.

I had three interviews for a writing job. They never asked me for writing samples, which is weird since that's the whole point of the job. During the final round, two older ladies who were retired and came back to work made fun of my past experience. They joked and mocked me, saying things like 'hopefully someone would give me a chance.' It felt like they judged me entirely for my age and didn't see me as a professional. I got a generic email saying I didn't get the job. It was so impersonal, and I wouldn't work there after that experience.

After applying online, I quickly had a recruiter interview and then a follow-up interview. The recruiter was pretty brash. Basically, the entire interview was her stating "ok but have you ever done this skill" followed by me stating that I had, reiterating what was in my application and then giving further details. The hiring manager interview was just as uncomfortable. I seriously felt like she just had an argument with someone before and took it out on me. Imagine a ticked off teen skyping with their parents. That was the feeling. So awkward. Can not recommend.

I had my 10 am meeting with the only HR person left. She made me wait because she was busy entering employee hours for payroll. She seemed super stressed and mentioned that both the HR Partner and Generalist had left after the merger. She barely looked at me, looking really defeated. I actually felt bad for her. The whole culture seems like a total mess because of the merger.
