& Process

The interview process was very direct and to the point. The questions asked were clear and structured, without much opportunity for casual conversation. It didn't feel like a natural, flowing dialogue.

I had a really great interview experience with Verse and would recommend this company to anyone looking to join a growing sales team. Everyone I talked to was energetic, kind, and helpful. I worked mainly with Hillary throughout the formal interview process, and she was fantastic. She was direct, open, responsive, and happily answered all of my many questions. I didn't accept the offer because of a different opportunity I couldn't pass up, but I even referred my boyfriend to apply, which says a lot about how I feel about Verse!

So I had this one phone call with them first, and it seemed good, they were excited about me. Then super fast, like on a Thursday, they wanted me to come down to San Diego from LA the next week. This took 3-4 hours to drive each way and I had to take an unpaid day off. But they seemed so eager that I went. The in-person interviews went well too, they kept saying how great my experience was. Then, less than 24 hours after I left, they emailed saying they were impressed but 'unable to select me as an ideal fit.' No reason given. It was confusing and frustrating because they kept praising my experience, and then I drove all that way and they couldn't even give me a reason. I feel like they probably never intended to seriously consider me, they just needed to interview people. They definitely used me and disrespected my time and resources. They could've known I wasn't a fit on the phone, but they tricked me into coming in. Watch out, if they sound really excited, it might just be a trick to get you to come in. Make sure they're actually interested or it'll be a waste of your time.

Applied online and then had a phone chat with HR. After that, I had an in-person with the CS manager. It was pretty straightforward but felt unprofessional. I think a joke I made about Glassdoor reviews might have upset them. It was weird they never told me the pay even when I asked. The office had a strange vibe too. Finally, there was a 15-minute presentation about my favorite website over screen share, but they didn't seem to pay much attention, so it felt like a waste of time.
