First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Veritiv.
Sales Representative
Had a brief recruiter call. Then I met with the Sales Manager a couple of weeks later, but he seemed really busy. We talked about pay and focusing on new business. I thought it was weird they didn't offer a car package, but expected us to use our own cars for sales calls with a 75k base. Three weeks after that, I had a Teams call with the VP. They said they'd get back to me with an offer, but I never heard anything. To be fair, I wasn't super interested unless they bumped the salary and included a car. The main issues were the bad communication and a compensation package that didn't make sense unless you were just starting out.
- Were you open to pursuing new business sales opportunities?
Intern
The whole thing took like a month from the first call to the offer. It was just behavioral interviews with the director and manager. They were all super chill and made it fun. No technical stuff at all.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your previous experiences?
Procurement Intern
I spoke with a recruiter first, which was a good experience. We talked about pay, benefits, what the day-to-day work and life would be like, interactions, and what I might be doing. There were 2 rounds of interviews in total. Then, I interviewed with the manager for the position itself.
- Tell me about your experience with the responsibilities of this role.
Corrugated Specialist
I went through the interview process for a corrugated specialist role at Veritiv. I had 4 interviews across 3 cities: Denver, Stockton, and Fresno. I spoke with 6 managers from different departments. They told me I was an elite candidate and that there would be a position for me even if I didn't get the one I applied for. After the 4th interview, they said it would take time to prepare an offer package. A month later, I hadn't heard back. My attempts to reach out were ignored, and I eventually learned the positions were filled. This was unprofessional given the time and money I invested, especially since only one interview was local.
- What makes you a good fit for this role?
