Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Verisk.
Business Analyst
The hiring process involved 3 rounds: an online aptitude assessment, a technical round (TR), and a managerial interview. I received the interview date a week after the aptitude assessment. The interviews were primarily based on my resume, with in-depth questions about my projects, SQL, and programming languages.
- Can you elaborate on the projects listed on your resume?
- What is your experience with SQL?
- What programming languages are you familiar with?
Business Analyst
First, there was a HR screening, which was really welcoming and mostly about making sure we were on the same page regarding the role. Then the second stage got way harder. It was split into two parts. The first part involved a role-play exercise. They gave me a brief and 15 minutes to prep. The scenario was about a company wanting to remove your software. I had to figure out what questions I should be asking this client. The second part was a standard interview with typical question and answer stuff.
- Can you describe the responsibilities of a business analyst?
- Could you explain the various ratios utilized in the insurance industry?
- What distinguishes excess from deductible?
Business Analyst
It was a straightforward interview with not too many technical questions. They mainly wanted to see if I had a basic understanding of the business. SQL skills are a plus for the role. Generally, we talked about my interests and I explained my experience.
- Can you explain your interest in the insurance sector?
