Technical Support Engineer
I had two supervisors ask me about handling angry customers and what kind of web hosting knowledge I had, like Unix, Linux, or Windows Server. They also asked if I had experience talking to customers on the phone and fixing their problems all day.
- What would you do if a customer was really angry?
- Tell me about any experience you have with web hosting, like Unix, Linux, or Windows Server.
- Have you spent your days on the phone troubleshooting customer issues?
Channel Marketing Manager
So I initially applied for Director of Marketing, but then management changed direction. They decided to hire two people for Marketing instead of one Director. This made my hiring process really long - I was hired about 3 months after the first interview. I started as a contractor for a year and then convinced them to make me a full-time employee.
- Regarding channel compensation, what approach would you recommend?
- Would you suggest a tiered compensation structure or a flat commission model based on partner responsibility?
DNS Administrator
I had a one-on-one chat with my potential manager. They wanted to see if I'd be a good fit personality-wise and if I knew the basics of Linux. The interviewer was super chill and friendly. I thought the questions they asked were pretty fair and spot on.
- Can you answer some basic questions about Linux?
Channel Account Manager
it was a very relaxed interview, we started with a phone interview, then there was a one on one meeting. It took about three weeks for them to get back to me with an answer, but I did get the job.
- Can you tell me about what you have sold?
- Describe a time you closed a difficult customer.
