Quality Assurance Engineer
I applied for the Lead Quality Assurance Engineer position in Sydney. A recruiter reached out via email to inquire about my notice period, Australian residency, overall experience, salary expectations, and availability for a virtual interview. I provided all the requested details. After a 10-day wait with no follow-up, the recruiter messaged again, asking if I was free in two days. I confirmed, but haven't heard anything since. No updates on my application status. This company seems disorganized.
- Could you please state your notice period?
- Regarding your residency status in Australia, could you provide details?
- What is your total professional experience?
QA Analyst
I was contacted by VeriFone India, Bangalore for a QA opening. My experience was pathetic, they are unprofessional and don't value time. They are also liars. I went for an interview last week and it went awesome. First round was with the TL, he asked technical questions followed by puzzles. My deep knowledge of POS architecture helped me impress him. I waited 30 min for the second round. Second round was with the Technology Head and one TL. They asked more technology related questions which I cleared. After 2 days, they called and offered a contract position, though it was initially stated as permanent. They hire only for contract and will inform at the time of offering. So, approach them only if you are looking for a contract job.
- Were there any technical questions asked about the ISO 8583 standard, which someone familiar with payment solutions would know?
- Were there any puzzles asked?
Senior Software QA Engineer
The interview process took a full day for the face-to-face part. There were 3 rounds in total: a written test, a face-to-face with the team lead, and then a manager round. All the questions felt pretty straightforward, and I think focusing on the basics, the domain knowledge, and the SDLC/STLC processes is key. The HR person contacted me about a month later with an offer, and we discussed compensation around the same time.
- Could you define SQL injection and elaborate on it?
- Describe your approach to testing a Point of Sale (POS) application.
- Can you explain the scrum methodology?
