Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Verifone.
Java Developer
Great interview process, they really checked my knowledge thoroughly. The interviewer asked high level Java questions, both subjective and objective. I had to answer carefully and with confidence to pass.
- Explain OOPs concepts and their application in Java.
Senior Java Developer
Got a call from a recruiter, my profile was shortlisted, and the interview was scheduled for 1 hour. I joined the interview via Teams. Two people joined the interview, which was fair enough. To interview a 7-year experienced candidate, a 3-year experienced candidate joined. I cannot tell how worst the process is. They wasted my time and asked to write a few programs, which is fine. After writing programs for an hour, they told me, 'Let's start the interview,' and began with OOPS. In between, many people joined, asked a question, and left. Please don't waste the candidate's time.
- Can you explain the syntax of the main method?
- What are the OOPS concepts?
Java Developer
A consultancy will manage all contact with Verifone. They will schedule multiple interviews, seemingly to prolong the process. Day 1 involved two in-person technical rounds, both of which were passed. Day 2 had one technical round conducted via Skype with someone from Australia, which was also cleared. On Day 3, there was a face-to-face techno-managerial interview. Following this, they contacted me for more rounds. On Day 4, three technical rounds took place. The manager indicated that subsequent discussions would be more relaxed. Two days later, I received negative feedback.
- Can you explain immutability?
- Tell me about the Singleton pattern.
- Describe the difference between wait(), notify(), and sleep().
