First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Veriff.
Verification Specialist
I submitted an application online and was quickly contacted by HR. We had a brief screening call, followed by a timed online test that assessed my attention to detail and English proficiency. The final part was a video interview with two team members where we discussed how I would handle document checks and fraud detection. The whole process was fast but professional.
- Can you explain your process for verifying an identity document?
Social Media Lead
I had two interviews, the first was with the recruiter and the second with the brand manager. Both seemed nice and I felt good about the role. But then they told me the job was on hold because they were thinking of moving it to the US. Reflecting on the interview with the brand manager, they mostly talked about the company and didn't ask many questions. I found out later they had already relisted the job for US candidates online. It felt like they decided to move the job before my interviews even happened. I got a generic rejection email saying I wasn't suitable. When I asked for feedback, it was just a very short, blunt comment. I thought the handling of this was bad, especially since they didn't consider the UK candidates who interviewed and didn't even say thanks or apologize for the wasted time.
- Can you describe your current or most recent position?
Observability Engineer
After a resume screening, I had an HR interview, then an interview with the Hiring Manager. Next was a test task, followed by a team interview. I was waiting for the senior leadership interview, but then I got a big email saying I wasn't selected for further process, and the reason they gave wasn't even relevant. The process itself was clear and good, but it was a waste of time doing the task and preparing for interviews, which ultimately didn't lead to success. The interviewers seemed two-faced.
- Tell me about your observability stack.
- Could you complete a task involving logs, traces, and metrics?
Software Engineer
Applied on LinkedIn. The interview process was pretty straightforward and well organized. There were 2 rounds: one with a recruiter and one with the team lead. After that, I got home assignments. This is where everything went sideways. First, the company doesn't give estimations for the tasks, so you have to estimate yourself, which often leads to spending too much time on the test assignment. Second, the stack they're hiring for and the stack in the home assignment could have nothing in common. Third, the person responsible for checking the results doesn't respect the objectives in the task description. Even a typo can be a reason for rejection. On the positive side, you do get feedback in the end. Overall, it was the worst experience I've had so far. I hope, at some point, the company will at least respect the candidate's time a bit more and look at the results more carefully.
- Can you tell me about your past experience?
- What's your experience with the tech stack?
- What are your reasons for wanting to switch jobs?
