Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vercel.
Account Executive
First, there was a recruiter screen, and then a hiring manager interview. The hiring manager interview was pretty structured and lasted about 45 minutes. Lots of questions about how I handle deals and my selling style. It felt like they were looking for sellers who already had skills that their current team is still developing.
- Could you describe a lost deal and the lessons you took away from it?
Account Executive
I only got a rejection email. I have over 25 years of experience as an Account Executive, with experience in BigData, IaaS, PaaS, AWS, GCP, and Azure, and 15 of those years were in international key account management. Then I just received an automated rejection email in English from a NO-REPLY address with no sender name or phone number. It's really disappointing for a company that sells millions of units and is hiring for an Account Executive role.
- What challenges do you encounter when looking for a job on LinkedIn?
Account Executive
It was a smooth and respectful interview process. The panel interview involved a lot of work, but I met great people. There was also a values interview to learn about the company culture. You really need to do your homework on the product and its ecosystem.
