First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Verbal Beginnings.
Registered Behavior Technician
The interview process was brief and straightforward. They inquired about my previous experience, even though I had none at the time, and asked if I had prior experience working with autistic children. The interviewer fostered a comfortable atmosphere.
- Do you have experience as a Registered Behavior Technician?
Education Manager
I got to meet the whole team I'd be working with, which was a good way to see if we'd mesh well. I also got to interview with my future supervisor and hear about what projects they're currently working on.
- How do you approach rolling out changes that impact a large group?
Talent Acquisition Specialist
After submitting my resume on Indeed and through their Applicant Tracking System, I was contacted for a phone interview with the Talent Acquisition lead. The call with her was really great and energetic, and she made the whole process super comfortable and kept everything open and transparent. Soon after, I had an in-person panel interview with the same TAL, the CEO, and the VP of Verbal Beginnings. This interview also went really smoothly, I didn't feel pressured, and I genuinely enjoyed learning more about the company culture. The next day, I got a detailed offer letter and instructions.
- Can you describe your typical daily responsibilities in your current role?
ABA Therapist
The interview focused a lot on discussing previous work experience with children, and you can make a case that your past experience was valuable even if not directly with autistic kids, as well as experience working with groups. I was asked how I'd use specific materials to engage children. They also asked if I could handle the physical aspects of the job, like managing potentially aggressive clients. We also talked about pay and benefits. The interview was about an hour online, and it was all conversation, no quiet lulls because there was so much to talk about. Make sure you have your questions ready and answers written down because they give a lot of info.
- How would you use generic kid materials to engage with and pair with children?
