A few steps in the process but they explain why it is the way it is. They give a whole bunch of info up front. Kind of like the hardest parts of the job to see if it's something you would really want to be doing.

The interviewer seemed nice, but it was clear from the start that this would be a very micromanaged role. They require company-issued cell phones for tracking, an app that needs to be constantly running, and video chat interviews, which I found too intrusive. Plus, a two-week training in Texas is mandatory? After decades of experience globally, I doubt this company has anything new to teach me. Training won't make a claimant active either; that's luck. The interviewer downplayed covert equipment, saying investigators use their cell phones for covert video, which I wasn't impressed by. Cell phones are a last resort. Maybe that's why they're always hiring.

The interview began with the hiring manager talking up the company. I mostly just listened, and then they warned me about the upcoming ridiculous SHL online exam. For those unfamiliar, SHL exams are these pseudo-scientific psychometric tests for numerical reasoning and multitasking. The multitasking part was super annoying because it had nothing to do with the actual job. SHL feels like a cheap, outdated way for HR to filter people with its weird test format. You'd think a company like Veracity Research would use proper written exams instead of this low-budget candidate screening. Seriously, if a job requires SHL or similar, just leave.

It was a pretty straightforward phone interview to start. After that, they sent over a link for an online test covering basic computer skills. If you passed that, they'd set up a second interview. What put me off was after the first interview, I confirmed I was okay with the advertised hourly rate, but they then said that was a mistake and offered significantly less than what was posted. That, and other reviews from current/past employees, felt like big red flags.
