The interview itself was pretty straightforward. The main issue was after I got the offer and accepted it, the interviewer said his boss would contact me about onboarding. I waited two weeks and then had to reach out to the interviewer myself. He then told me that they had actually decided to go with another candidate. It was really frustrating because he didn't even bother to let me know they'd rescinded the offer. I also thought that once they made me an offer and I accepted, they would stop interviewing others. Vera Institue of Justice really needs to show basic respect in the future. Just because someone is an intern doesn't mean professionalism can be ignored. It looked really bad for the organization.

The interview went really well, and I enjoyed talking to the two people I met. I'd done my homework on the company, which definitely helped. Instead of the usual basic questions, they asked for my perspective on various topics. The only downside was the lack of communication afterward. They seemed like they'd reply within a week, but it's been over a month, and despite several follow-ups, I haven't heard back. Neither interviewer responded to my thank-you emails, which was a bit disappointing, though I understand if I didn't get the job. Better communication would have been appreciated.
