First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Veo.
Facilities Manager
Overall, it was a good experience. They were very communicative about next steps and were prompt with responses, unlike some other companies. The recruiter, Allison, was clear and provided good information throughout. I went through 3 interviews. They did ask me to complete a project, which I found to be both engaging and challenging.
- What strategies can be used to effectively get the attention of an Operations manager for important requests when they are overwhelmed with their own priorities?
Technical Operations
The recruiter was professional and respectful during our initial call. Very unfortunately, despite their promise to 'be in touch in a few days,' I received no further communication. I followed up four times over the course of a month without any response. While I appreciated the positive first interaction, the lack of follow-through was disappointing. Even a standard rejection email would have provided closure and shown respect for candidates' time. This experience has left me questioning the organization's commitment to professional communication and candidate experience. Such disconnect between initial promises and actual follow-up practices creates unnecessary uncertainty for job seekers and potentially damages the company's reputation. Organizations that truly value talent acquisition understand that every interaction with candidates, regardless of outcome, reflects their overall professionalism and corporate values.
- Can you tell me more about yourself?
Account Manager
The interview had a straightforward structure: first, an HR phone screen, then an interview with the hiring manager and a team member. This was followed by a case study with a 48-hour turnaround, and finally, a case study panel presentation. However, I felt like they took advantage of me, which aligns with what others have reported. The first two stages felt rushed, and then they gave me a case study that involved solving a real problem Veo was facing. I had 48 hours to complete it, and the deadline fell over a holiday, which says something about their culture. I slightly held back on providing my complete solution because I'd heard Veo uses these case studies for free work, and their response made it obvious they did just that. It was blunt, awful, and totally transparent. I wouldn't recommend interviewing here, and I'm a veteran with over 6 years in microtransit.
- Considering we're already providing a biking solution to the city, how would you persuade them to grant permits for scooter operations, especially when permits are currently restricted for such operators?
Industrial Designer
This was a messy interview process. The initial recruiter call was a bit concerning as they mentioned they don't have an industrial design team and seemed unsure about who designed their vehicles. They mentioned a design challenge but gave no details about what it would involve. The actual interview was decent, but I never got a response even after following up via email. Honestly, other IDers should be careful with this one. The ID role has been open for over a year, so I'm guessing they might just be looking for free design work through these 'challenges'.
