First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ventyx.
Associate Developer
I spoke with two of my potential peers, not including the manager. They asked typical interview questions, and we discussed my past work experience. We got along well, and they suggested the manager should schedule me for a second interview. However, contrary to what the peers indicated, the manager told the recruiter that I didn't have sufficient experience and a second interview was not offered. I interviewed for a different role in another department and didn't perform well, so I suspect the manager based their decision on that.
- What makes you the right candidate for this position?
Team Leader
I talked to the hiring manager on the phone, and we connected well, so he invited me for an in-person meeting. He started by asking about my experience with global deployments and the biggest project I'd managed. I felt like I was doing okay, but then he brought in a developer who asked a lot of really technical questions about the software I use. They felt a bit random and out of the blue, and I wasn't sure what he was getting at. I managed to answer a few, and he seemed satisfied that I had sufficient knowledge, saying I had a good Administrator's background. I mean, I never pretended to be anything more than that. The whole interview was about an hour, and I got the feeling I wasn't going to get the job. I never heard back, not even a courtesy email. Pretty unprofessional, in my opinion.
- Could you explain the distinction between a Role and a Profile?
Business Consultant
The hiring process was pretty straightforward. Initially, HR sends a link for an online GK quiz. After the quiz, candidates who meet the minimum score proceed to the next round. This is usually an HR round where they ask about your background, experience, and why you're a good fit for the job and how you can contribute to the company's growth. After the HR round, you'll be called on-site for an interview. My interview in Houston was scheduled from 11 am to 3 pm. It wasn't very organized and might finish an hour early. It includes 4 face-to-face interviews: one with HR, one with a technical lead, one with a Project Management lead, and one with a sales lead. All questions are related to your previous experience and what's on your resume. Even after they decided to hire me, it took 2 months to get the offer letter and another month to start.
- Can you share an instance where you felt you didn't meet your manager's expectations?
QA Analyst
I applied for an Associate QA Analyst (Entry Level) role. A recruiter from Ventyx reached out to confirm my interest. I agreed to take a written test since I was still job searching. I prepared and completed the online test. It's been over two months, and I've been trying to follow up with the recruiter via calls and emails about my test results. I feel companies should send a courtesy email even if a candidate isn't selected, but maybe I'm asking too much? What's concerning is that the recruiter's LinkedIn shows they've switched companies since starting my application. I'm still trying to find the right person to get an update on my test.
