First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Vention.
Client Partner
It was a long process with many interviews, though there was a lot of rescheduling. The team was nice. The Sales VP, Anna, seemed distracted during the sales presentation which was requested and had vague requirements.
- What qualities make for a good client partner?
- What's your approach to first contacting a stakeholder who is difficult to reach?
Software Engineer
The interview process was professional and ran smoothly. The internship itself was a great experience, with an amazing company full of great professionals. Being onsite and getting to connect with current employees on projects was a fantastic opportunity to learn a lot, which is what Vention offers.
- In the long term, what are your career aspirations?
JavaScript Intern
The interviewer didn't seem to know my CV, skills, or projects. She only asked me to talk about myself for a bit. That was the entire interview. The internship is for 6 months and it's unpaid. Anyway, good luck to the company.
- Could you please tell me about yourself?
Senior Java Developer
I applied online and it was straightforward, though it took about a week for them to get back to me. Once they did, we set up an HR interview for three days later, which went really well. The HR person's English was pretty good, making communication easy for both of us. She asked some general questions. The next day, she scheduled a technical interview for five days later with what I think was one developer and a manager. This interview felt quite easy, and honestly, I felt the questions weren't quite right for a senior developer role, being too basic and detailed instead of focusing on project experience, which I think is more suitable for senior roles. You know, as a senior dev, you don't need to remember every tiny detail, just how, why, and when to use things. I'm still waiting to hear back since the technical interview was only two days ago, so I need to be patient.
- Could you explain the different memory types in the JVM?
- What is the method area?
- What is the String pool?
