Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Venable LLP.
Legal Administrative Assistant
It was a great experience overall. The recruiter was friendly and asked relevant questions. She kept in contact before and during the application process. The salary offer was great, and she even suggested other positions in case I didn't get this one.
- How has your previous experience prepared you for this role?
Legal Administrative Assistant
I had a phone interview with a recruiter who was super excited and wanted me to talk to the hiring manager right away. She mentioned that salary depends on experience and asked me to send over my experience even though I had more than 15 years on my resume. The very next day, I got an email saying I wasn't qualified. I asked her for feedback but never heard back. I feel like I was misled and suspect age discrimination. If I had known, I wouldn't have shared my past experience.
- Regarding compensation, what are your salary expectations?
Legal Administrative Assistant
The interview process was pretty standard for today's interviews: a video call with the recruiter, then an in-person interview with the manager, followed by an in-person interview with the hiring attorney. About a week after the last interview, I got an offer by email, and I accepted it.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
