First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Velocity Merchant Services.
Sales Representative
They looked over my job history and sales experience, and we talked about my past employment in relation to this job. They asked if I'd be okay with spending most of my day on the phone making sales calls and sitting at my desk, rather than being out of the office all day like my previous sales jobs required.
- Can you describe your previous sales responsibilities?
- What aspects of your previous jobs did you enjoy, and which did you not?
- Do you believe you have the capacity to make 250-300 calls daily?
Sales Representative
I sent in my resume and then they rang me up for the interview. I arrived and spoke with the HR manager. They decided to hire me and put me into training, which I then completed.
- Tell me about your previous sales experience.
Inside Sales Representative
The recruiter took about 3 days to schedule me. She was very informative and forthcoming about the opportunity and was very direct. We discussed the commission and bonus structure in detail, and she also explained how the quarterly Presidents Club plan worked.
- What do you like most about the sales process?
Marketing Coordinator
Saw a job posting for "Marketing Agent" on Craigslist Chicago. Emailed my cover letter and resume. Got a call about a week later about the job. Scheduled an initial interview with the HR Director. She liked me, so I had a second interview with the CEO. After that, I was given a "Marketing Planning Project" to bring to my third interview. I did some market research and presented some suggested courses of action with some graphics I made. Got a call back about a week and a half later to say I got the job.
- Were you asked to create a marketing plan?
