First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Velapoint.
Benefits Coordinator
We had a group interview to learn more about the company, and then I had an individual interview. After that, and once I passed my insurance license exam, they offered me the full-time job.

Insurance Agent
The interview process was super easy, honestly. They're really eager to bring in agents they can kind of take advantage of during open enrollment. They'll promise you can make tons of money and even show you fake commission examples. But after open enrollment, they'll only pay you next to nothing for your policies, claiming that's actually how the compensation plan works, which is totally different from what they told you during the interview. Then, they'll try to get rid of you so they don't have to pay out commissions and can pocket all the money from the policies you sold.
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this agent position?
IT Support
The interview process lasted 5 days. I started by meeting with the lowest-ranking people and then worked my way up to the top decision-makers. They don't hire for this role often, so they were really picky.
- I was asked to complete a typing test that was focused on baseball, which I don't enjoy.
- I was put on the spot and asked to talk about past challenges I've faced.
- I had to meet the owner and CEO while wearing a suit and tie in a hot room.
Customer Service Representative
It was quick, met with the manager of the Dept I was going into, then spoke with Recruiter. I wasn't clearly informed if the position was contract or temp. ENSURE YOU ASK THIS QUESTION: Is this a permanent or temporary position?
- Describe a time you dealt with a difficult customer.
