QA Engineer
If you're looking to spend over 5 hours interviewing across a month, only to get a standard rejection email, Veeam is the place to apply. I expected more feedback given the time I invested. It was a professional recruitment process overall, but it lacked empathy and basic courtesy at the end.
- How would you test or quality control a mechanical bathroom scale?
- Can you explain the difference between NTFS and FAT32 file systems?
- What distinguishes OS-level file compression from 3rd party file compression?
QA Engineer
So the whole interview process for the Junior QA Engineer role at Veeam took about a month and a half. It was split into three main parts. First, there was an online test that lasted an hour, then I had a chat with a QA Team Leader about Linux and Windows system admin stuff and also had to come up with test cases for some situations. After that, I got a take-home assignment to test how DHCP and DNS servers behave, which I had plenty of time for. Then, there was a one-hour technical interview focusing on DNS, DHCP, and subnetting. The last interview was a two-hour panel with three QA Team Leaders, where we went over Linux/Windows admin, DNS, DHCP, and subnetting again, plus some brain teasers and simple math, and I had to design more test cases. HR was super communicative the whole time via email, always on top of things. The best part was how relaxed and friendly the QA Team Leaders made the interviews, which really helped me do my best.
- Questions about general networking concepts
- Questions about DNS
- Questions about Active Directory
Senior QA Engineer
I applied via LinkedIn. They responded very quickly and gave me a task. A week later, they invited me to take a math and logic test.
- They made me a previous task
- and then I had an interview
- and another task with maths and logical questions
