I applied online and then got a call back a few weeks later. The first was a phone interview, then I went in for an in-person interview, and then a final interview with a senior VP. After that, I got a job offer with more money than I thought, so I took it. They did a pretty thorough background check and a serious drug screen too.

The interview process started off great, the management team was really nice. After my third interview last week, both the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager said I'd hear back early this week. It's early this week now, I sent a thank you, and they told me it would be next week instead of this week. I'm done with games and companies that don't stick to their word. Just give me a clear yes or no.

About 3 weeks after I applied, HR called me to set up an interview. The first interview was with two Credit Department Managers. It went straight to business. They wanted to know why I wanted to work in banking and asked general finance and accounting questions. They may even bring in other specialists to sit in on the interview. Personality is pretty important in credit. I would advise to be professional, but also relaxed. Most people there have a sense of humor and it's a friendly place overall, so let it show if you are that type of person. Also, if you have sample work from your last job or from college that is relevant BRING IT! Especially anything that involves financial writing since a big part of the position is being able to write credit presentations.

The process had three parts, which I think gave a good overall understanding of expectations on both sides. Two were phone interviews, and the third was in person—interviewing with both the immediate supervisor and operations manager.
