So I went through two rounds of interviews and then they did reference checks too, but in the end, they didn't give me an offer. The only reason they gave me for not getting the job was my location, which is kinda weird because they knew about it from the start and said it wouldn't be a problem.

I applied online and got a call back for a virtual interview a few days later. I spoke with the team leader, and it was a really positive and relaxed chat, almost informal. They did 2 reference checks, and then I got an offer, which was super quick, like max 2 weeks from when I applied. Before they sent the contract, there was a drug test and a criminal background check.
