First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at VCC.
Legal Associate
Other than the general questions, I was asked to bring along my drafting from my previous employment with confidential information redacted. The interviewer will ask questions about my work to test my legal skill.
- What led to your resignation from your prior role?
- Could you show me your previous legal drafting samples?
- Tell me about the work you've previously drafted.
Intern
I was called in to answer a couple of general questions, not really about construction itself, more to see if I'd fit with the team. I answered their questions, shook hands, and followed up. I got the job!
- What made you decide to get into construction?
Marketing Coordinator
Had a quick phone call, then they invited me for an interview. The interview was over an hour and a half and it went super well; we chatted about the industry and they liked my enthusiasm. We covered why VCCP, why marketing, and why this specific role. They asked me to discuss a VCCP campaign I liked and a general campaign I liked. I was then invited back for a second interview with the head of the department and another team member, in two separate interviews. They asked similar questions about why VCCP and more about my experience as it relates to the job. They mentioned they'd decide in two days, but it took almost five days to hear back. Apparently, it was between me and another candidate who knew more about the role. I really enjoyed the experience and would look for another opportunity with this agency.
- Why VCCP?
Project Superintendent
The hiring manager called me for a phone interview, and then set up an in-person interview.
